Job Description


Assist customers who telephone, drive in or come to the payment windows, receiving their payments or providing responses to their needs, questions or complaints.


Representative Responsibilities:

  1. Receive payments for utility services from customers made in person, by mail, by night deposit box or by electronic transactions, post to their account, balance cash drawer, make out bank deposits and list insufficient fund checks. 
  2. Answer customer questions or complaints about billing or service rendered, referring complaints or service problems to designated departments for investigation.
  3. Perform a variety of miscellaneous tasks including filing of completed work-order tickets, checking edits, etc.
  4. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Applicant Requirements

Education And Work Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent where courses included typing, business math, calculator or ten-key adding machine.
  • One or more years of work experience where personal customer interface, money handling and telephone usage were regular Job responsibilities.


  • Ability to work effectively during periods of time constraints
  • Ability to work non-standard hours as necessary
  • Ability to work effectively and closely with other employees and corporation customers
