About Continuum

Continuum is working with a number of leading automotive manufacturers to improve the performance and comfort of world-class automobiles. Continuum's technology can be integrated into the drivetrain, chassis, or body panels to reduce the levels of unwanted sound and vibration in the passenger cabin. Continuum's patented PiezoFlexĂ” piezoelectric composites offer unique advantages relative to standard piezoelectric wafers such as high output performance, conformability, durability, and broad area sensing/actuation. These unique characteristics allow Continuum to develop cost effective systems, creating high value to our automobile partners for nearly every application where high performance reductions in vibration and acoustic noise are critical to the designer. Continuum's iPowerĂ” family of products allow its customers to self-power numerous applications within the automotive industry. Used together, Continuum's proprietary PiezoFlex composites and Self-Powered ElectronicsĂ” harness the natural energy available in vibrating structures and use this energy to power a wide array of devices such as numerous remote sensor packages, acoustic noise attenuation and vibration reduction devices. The primary advantage of Continuum's iPower products is that no external power source is required. This gives Continuum's customers the advantage of designing low-cost systems without regard for expensive and complicated power supply systems. Attached to a vibrating component, Continuum's product is a self-contained power system useful in a wide array of applications. If you would like more information on how Continuum can help improve your products through the application of our unique technologies and products, please contact Dr. Aaron Bent, EVP Business Development at ext 189 or aabent@continuumphotonics.com.
