Job Description

Job Summary

Continental Resources is an efficient organization with a rich asset base where talented, motivated individuals thrive. Continental's Business Development Group works on highly visible, strategic initiatives which include acquisitions, mergers, capital investment programs and divestitures. The Corporate / Business Development Analyst reports to the Manager of Business Development, who reports to the VP of Business Development. The Business Development group originates, evaluates and executes growth initiatives through acquisitions, mergers, capital investment programs and other strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a high level of professionalism and maturity. This person should be extremely motivated, able to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, and can work independently as well as part of a team.

Duties/Responsibilities

* Analytical support to acquisitions, divestitures, or other corporate development projects
* Maintain company-wide Net Asset Value model (NAV)
* Conduct research to identify acquisition opportunities, emerging market trends and changes in the competitive landscape
* Create financial models and presentations
* Prepare internal management and board of directors reports and presentations
* Monitor and summarize developments and performance of competitors
* Present findings and make recommendations related to potential acquisition targets and other opportunities for investment
* Build and maintain database of transactions and operational metrics
* Willingness to work evenings and occasional weekends

Preferred Qualifications

* Undergraduate or Graduate degree from a leading academic institution in Business, Finance, Accounting or Engineering
* Knowledge of upstream oil & gas industry highly desirable
* Experience in corporate development, business development, investment banking, private equity, business strategy or management consulting
* Advanced user of MS Excel, Power Point, and Word
* Experience with MS Access, ARIES, BI tools (e.g. Tableau, SpotFire), GIS, statistical programming (e.g. SAS, SPSS, Stata, R)

Required Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree from a leading academic institution
* History of outstanding academic and professional achievement
* Strong quantitative abilities, acute business judgment and creative problem solving skills
* Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple objectives
* Self-motivated with an understanding of urgency to complete projects in a timely manner
* Proven team player with a can-do attitude
