Job Description

Research and Development Intern


This intern will work with the Research and Development Team to support R+D project tasks and to update R+D project structure and documentation.

1. Learn basic requirements of ContiTech Research and Development Project Management process and R+D Kanban Process.

2. Review R+D projects and perform document audit according to the process requirements. Report out audit findings to Head of Research and Development.

3. Preparation of R+D project documentation.

4. Completion of assigned R+D project development tasks.


* Must be currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate program. Must be at least a Sophomore
* Must be familiar with MS Office Applications
* Must be willing to learn about other software used in the company
* Must have data entry and database management skills
* Must have analytical and analyses skills
* Must be self-motivated
* Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
* Must be able to work in a multi-national environment
* Must be able to work in fast paced automotive industry setting while adhering to tight deadlines and project timeframes

This internship is located in Rochester, NH

Schedule: Normal business operations (8am - 5pm)

The ContiTech division develops, manufactures and markets products, systems and intelligent components made of rubber, plastic, metal and fabric. They are used in machine and plant engineering, mining, agriculture, the automotive industry and other important sectors of the future.


1905 Continental produces riveted anti-skid tires, a forerunner of steel-studded tires. 1907 The first edition of Continental's Road Atlas for motorists and motorcyclists is published. 1908 Continental invents the detachable rim for saloon cars - a remarkable innovation to help save time and effort when changing a tire. 1909 Specimens of synthetic rubber developed at the Bayer laboratories are successfully vulcanized at Continental and processed to make the first test tires. Louis Blériot, the pioneer aviator, makes his historic Channel flight. The fuselage and wings of his plane are covered with Continental's Aeroplan material. 1912 Construction of an administration building designed by architect Peter Behrens begins in Vahrenwalder Street. In 1986, this building is bought by the Hanover City Council to house a new technology center.
