Job Description

Job Title: Associate, Machining

Purpose: Produce parts that meet requirements using a variety of manual and/or automated equipment through established procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Set-up and operate various manual and automated production machines where set-up is well defined and operate simple CNC type machines that are already set-up for production.
* Read basic blueprints or mechanical drawings.
* Recognize machining or manufacturing problems in order to produce defect free parts
* Accurately perform basic metrology tasks utilizing basic measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, etc.
* Perform preventative maintenance on tools, equipment and machines as required.
* Assist in the maintenance of a clean and organized machining area.
* Observe all safety rules and regulations.
* Accurately complete all necessary documentation associated with production.
* Must be willing and able to continually rotate through a variety of manufacturing processes and duties, performing all types of tasks in a cell/team environment.
* Assist in training other employees performing similar tasks on the proper techniques and procedures in order to produce defect free parts.
* Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Work Experience Requirements: A minimum of one year work experience in a machine shop or metal working shop using machines to fabricate products or equivalent vocational training.

Education Requirements: N/A

Knowledge Requirements: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, read basic blueprints or mechanical drawings, use shop math and operate various types of production machines. Ability to produce parts at the rate established for a particular operation. Ability to accurately use basic machine shop measuring devices. Must be able to work all scheduled overtime. Must be willing and able to continually rotate through a variety of manufacturing processes and duties, performing all types of tasks in a cell/team environment. Must be reliably and predictably available to perform the major duties of the position at the assigend work site. Must be able to be ready to perform the job tasks at the assigned starting time.
