Mechanical Design Engineer 3– (Lenexa, KS) Kiewit Engineering: Perform piping system thermal flexibility analyses for high energy piping systems specific to power plant design in accordance w/ ASME Piping codes, standards & industry practices. Reqs: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or structural engng or related. 5 yrs exp as a mechanical engineer, piping/pipe stress Engineer or related. Exp must incl: Performing, verifying, & directing stress analysis, piping engineering & support engineering to ensure conformance to ASTM Piping codes (B31.1 & B31.3), NEMA, MSS SP, API, PFI, ASME BPVC Section I, & section V & client's requirements utilizing Bentley Autopipe, Caesar II, CAE PIPE, Nozzle PRO, PDS, SP 3D, SmartPlant Review, Navisworks, MicroStation & AutoCAD technology platforms. Perform evaluation & qualify nozzle loads & stresses for sensitive equipment (incl Steam turbine generator, Boiler feed water pumps, surface condenser, heat exchanger, compressors & hot drain tanks) by using NEMA SM23, API 610, API 617, API 618, API 660, ASME Section VIII & Weld qualification as per WRC 107/297. Manage assigned budget, schedule, & quality requirements using component claiming schemes, plan, execute, & track piping engineering progress on a unit rate basis. Selection, review & finalizing piping supports for plant engineering services including spring hanger, snubber specifications, Arrangement and optimization to ensure safety and lowest installed cost.
