Job Description

Concordia University invites applicants to the full-time position of Administrative Assistant for the Office of Advancement located on the Mequon Campus. The Administrative Assistant provides administrative and organizational support to the Office of Advancement. This full-time non-exempt position reports to the Director of Advancement Services. The individual must be able to perform in a professional manner, organize workflows, follow directions, take initiative and manage support functions for timely attainment of objectives and outcomes.

Responsibilities

* Assist multiple Advancement fundraising directors with daily workflows and provide support for their initiatives, to include significant work in the database for donor contact management
* In coordination with the Director of Advancement Services, provide administrative support including event and meeting coordination, logistics, correspondence, travel arrangements and other scheduling
* Assist in the implementation of the Heritage Society planned giving program's communication and activities
* Direct work tasks of student worker(s)
* Greet and assist constituents, alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff and other visitors
* Perform other duties as assigned

Knowledge and Abilities

* Excellent oral and written communication skills with a high level of accuracy in grammar, spelling, and proofreading
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively, collaboratively, and professionally, especially with various offices of the university
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
* Flexibility and the ability to deal with interruptions and work in a fast-paced office environment while prioritizing multiple tasks
* Knowledge and skill in office practices; use of computer systems, MS Office applications, and integrated database systems
* Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy
* Ability to work some evenings and weekends for special events

Education and Experience

Minimum two years of experience in increasingly responsible office administrative support experience. Bachelor's degree preferred. Possess an appreciation for the mission and purpose of Concordia as a university of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time hourly position. Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience. Concordia health, disability, and retirement plan enrollment is available to full-time employees and their eligible dependents.
