Job Description

The Credit Administration Intern is responsible for assisting in the detailed analysis of financial statements and credit applications for loan personnel to assist in the origination of new client relationships and management of existing loan portfolios. This position actively participates in loan portfolio management including financial reporting and covenant monitoring. This position ensures compliance with credit policies and procedures and with emphasis on safety and soundness, and performs all essential duties in compliance with regulatory requirements as well as Bank policies and procedures.

Essential Duties:

* Spreads financial statements and performs cash flow and collateral analysis of prospective lending commitments.
* Actively participates in loan portfolio management including financial reporting and covenant monitoring. Manages the loan tickler system and ensures required documents are received and processed.
* Prepares timely loan reviews and basic credit write-ups incorporating financial and collateral analysis. Demonstrates ability to adhere to tight timelines.
* As directed by manager, interacts with line lending staff, credit administration, servicing, operations, appraisal, legal and related personnel regarding credit-related issues. Works with partners to make improvements in operational processes.
* Keeps informed of changes in economic and/or market conditions that may affect credit risk and develops recommendations for consideration.
* Completes all required regulatory training as assigned within deadlines established including BSA, Bank Security and any other training as assigned, within required timeframes and on an annual basis.
* Performs other duties as assigned or requested

Experience and Skills

* Currently in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field and/or demonstrated understanding of relevant financial and accounting principles.
* Must possess strong analytical skills and professionalism
* Requires attention to detail and the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
* Ability to comprehend and apply Bank loan policies and procedures
* Ability to protect and maintain confidential information
* Ability to operate a variety of office machines including: financial calculator, personal computer, photocopier & fax machine
* Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
* Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers
* Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages.
* Ability to solve practical problems and work with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standards exist.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or schedule form.
* Superior analytical, written and verbal communication skills
* Exposure to essential loan documents including credit agreements and security agreements.
* Ability to collaborate and perform tasks effectively in a team environment
* Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
