Job Description

FT with a variable schedule to include Saturday rotation

Phlebotomist Logistics Coordinators drive company vehicles (vans, shuttles or buses) and must possess valid driver's license and insurability.You will load, unload and set up equipment at collection sites. Reporting to a variety of locations in the 15-county service area.

Under immediate direction you will greet, register, interview, screen and select potential donors; perform sample and whole blood collections;provide donor care and conduct equipment quality control while delivering excellent customer service and adhering to company standards.

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required

Related education and experience preferred: Licensed Practical Nurse, Paramedic, Medical Licensed Technician, or degree in health sciences

Experience:

Entry level, previous position as a phlebotomist preferred

May drive company vehicle, valid driver's license and insurability

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Entry level, previous position as a phlebotomist preferred

Previous experience with customer service preferred

Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external customers

Must be able to achieve and maintain current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification

Must be able to perform donor care and intervention

Must be able to meet required physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.

Materials and Equipment Directly Used:

General Office Equipment

Heat-sealing machine

Watch with ability to count seconds (must be provided by employee)

Hematocrit machine

Work Environment and Physical Activities:

Extensive periods of interaction with donors and public

Repeated, moderate levels of lifting

Must be able to lift or carry up to 40 pounds without assistance

Long periods of standing during performance of phlebotomy and hematroning procedures

Loads, unloads, sets-up equipment and supplies and assures adequate inventory at collection sites for Community Blood Center Operations

Must be able to work an erratic schedule
