Program Overview

The Comcast Center Internship Program (CCIP) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast's top innovators. Students become an integral part of the Comcast team while working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun and cultivating meaningful relationships.

Role Overview

The Special Events Intern will be responsible for managing the administration and execution of events and meetings on the Comcast Corporation Headquarters campus, including off-campus events.

In this role, intern will:

* Perform various office administrative daily and weekly tasks, assisting the Director of Events & Senior Events Managers with various special projects in conjunction with the Events Team operation.
* Coordinate and cover special events and company functions, as assigned by the Director of Events.
* Maintain special event files with updated event details, historical records and statistics.
* Produce, manage and facilitate event facility rental agreements with Comcast internal and external clients.
* Generate event cost estimates to event clients.
* Submit payments for processing and tracks facility fee revenues and gifts-in-kind for reporting.
* Perform data entry and manage multiple processes/systems to plan, track and note event details to produce event forms with QuickBase event software for event activations.
* Conduct site visits, performing detailed walkthroughs with key stakeholders/vendors/operations teams and clients.
* Coordinate and communicate event details with Flik Catering (Comcast's in-house catering partner).
* Process event security & HVAC request forms for event activations.
* Attend weekly events meeting(s) to communicate event details to event related operations departments.

Preferred Qualifications

* Currently enrolled and pursuing a Bachelor's degree from a United States-based college or university with the Grad year of 2022 or 2021 (sophomores and juniors).
* Major: Communications, Hospitality and Tourism
* Minimum GPA: 3.2
* Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Access
* Strong interpersonal skills.
* Must have excellent time management and verbal/written communication skills
* Must have great attention to detail and organizational skills , must be customer service oriented
* Must have ability to interface with all levels of management
* Must be able to work evenings (when necessary)
* Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
* Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Position includes, but not limited to, moving easels, event tables, chairs, high stools and rolling lecterns and coatracks and other various event equipment.
* Authorized to work in the United States of America.
