Comcast's National Accounting Organization ("NAO") and Corporate Accounting and Reporting (CAR) functions are responsible for all significant financial accounting, reporting and operations across Comcast Corporate and Comcast Cable groups. Key functions within these groups include monthly close activities for business units (NAO) and the overall company portfolio (CAR) such as technical operations, customer care, sales & marketing, product support / technology, and corporate and administration functions as well as cross-functional groups including regulatory, fixed assets and revenue accounting as well as internal/external reporting functions.

Summary:

The Accounting Associate Program is a 21-month program targeted at developing new college graduates into staff accountants within the Comcast National Accounting Organization (NAO) or Corporate Accounting and Reporting (CAR) functions. As part of this program, participants will participate in up to 3 rotations across the NAO and CAR groups, gaining exposure in general ledger accounting, month end close, account reconciliations and financial analysis. Professional experience will be supplemented with mentoring, professional development and networking sessions.

Associates will be responsible for the monthly close process for assigned areas, preparation of monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, analysis of monthly operating results, assisting with accounts payable and budget oversight functions, review of financial schedules submitted by field personnel and special projects as requested.

Core Responsibilities:

* Interprets accounting data, analyzes reports and participates in discussions regarding actions to be taken.
* Act as a liaison between various departments, vendors and the accounts payable team
* Prepares journal entries, reconciles specific account ledgers, various financial statements, records and reports.
* Assists with preparing financial reports and analyzing data for management review.
* Ensures the balance sheet accounts are accurately reconciled with supporting documents.
* Enters monthly journal entries to properly record accounting transactions, ensuring that journal entries have proper back up to substantiate the entry.
* Review invoices and assist with managing to approved project budgets.
* Assist with the long-range plan, annual operating budget and quarterly forecasting.
* Reviews financial statements for operating trends and results and develops written variance explanations, as applicable
* Assists with developing automated Oracle routines such as mass allocations and reoccurring journal entries.
* Assists higher level accountants in a variety of accounting assignments
* Assists with the internal and external audit process as needed.
* Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
* Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work variable schedule(s), including outside of normal business hours, as necessary.
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent

Field of Study: Accounting

Years' Experience: Generally, requires 0-2 years related experience (prior relevant internships count towards experience).

Location: Must be willing to commute between our Philadelphia, PA office, Wilmington, DE and Oaks, PA office as needed.

Additional Requirements:

* Minimum of 0-2 years of experience in industry and/or public accounting or similar work environment.
* Strong analytical skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
* Experience with Oracle Financials a plus.
