PRIMARY FOCUS FOR THIS POSITION WILL BE ASSISTING WITH THE OPERATIONS OF 3 MEDICATION ROOMS LOCATED AT EACH OF OUR RESIDENTIAL FACILITES ALONG WITH OVERSEEING ASSIGNED CLIENT MEDICATION COORDINATORS

THIS POSITION WILL BE TUESDAY - SATURDAY DAY SHIFT 7-3:30

SUMMARY: Registered Nurse, licensed to practice in the State of Oregon, according to Oregon’s professional nursing standards. Duties vary per location/department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Conduct mental/physical health assessments, including initial assessments of new clients, based on current/relevant mental health and nursing theory and through critical thinking
• Monitor/evaluate medication effectiveness and side effects for consumers in the Agency receiving medications; to include periodic AIMS testing of clients receiving neuroleptic medications
• Help with renewal of prescriptions at local pharmacies
• Review medications of clients living at group homes. Provide teaching of the staff and consumers at facility, including Nurse Delegation training/monitoring
• Provide medication/symptom management; and give consumers/staff in-services using a variety of methods to include groups, one-to-one and written example
• Provide support services to LMPs at the Agency
• Screen all initial health evaluation forms; contacting the client for additional data as needed
• Provide case management and individual/group skills training to clients as needed
• Complete documentation of all actions/services
• Act as liaison between the LMP's and other members of the treatment community and provide consultation/education as needed
• Attend staff meetings and participate on assigned committees
• Answer/respond to CCMH medically related calls
• Participate in agency CQI program as needed
• Participate in prevention/education community outreach
• Complete required paperwork/reports in a timely manner
• Establish/monitor medication management programs
• Driving duties may be necessary for medication distribution etc.
• Develop/create nursing policies/procedures
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must have an Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school for Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree Nursing is preferred. Six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or a combination of education/experience may be considered. Licensed under the State of Oregon Registered Nurse. Previous experience working with SPMI population preferred; Fluent bilingual in Spanish an asset.

REASONING ABIIITY: Ability to define and solve practical problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. . Ability to understand personal boundaries and how this impacts treatment.
