Job Description

A Research Associate position is available in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering to support a research program aiming at using methods from synthetic biology to optimize protein expression and purification processes used to manufacture biologic drugs.
We are seeking an exceptional and innovative individual with a degree in biochemistry or related field to join a talented multidisciplinary team focusing on optimizing the manufacturing of biotherapeutics.

You will be responsible for engineering, expressing, purifying, and characterizing proteins and antibodies to assist with structure and function analysis. You should possess strong core competency in protein biochemistry, with knowledge in protein structure and experience in protein expression design in different hosts, protein purification, biochemical/biophysical analyses, and protein:protein interactions. Moreover, you should be able to make meaningful contributions to cross-disciplinary efforts.

In addition, you will be involved in the management of the laboratory. Your responsibility may include the development of Standard Operating Procedures, overseeing purchases and deliveries, or training students and new staff joining the research group.

This position is located at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the United States by proposed start date. The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering will not provide visa sponsorship for this position.
