Job Description

Nursing Faculty

Colorado Mountain College Steamboat Springs

Full time faculty positions begin in August 2019 with a 30 credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.

The faculty position will work under the guidance of the Associate Dean of Nursing. This position will have a focus on the Medical Surgical content in the Associate Degree program of Nursing. Major areas of instruction include but are not limited to: Basic and Complex Concepts of Medical Surgical Nursing in both the classroom, simulation, and clinical setting. The academically prepared and experienced candidates could also be responsible for teaching courses at the Baccalaureate level including but not limited to: Dimensions of Professional Nursing Practice & Transition, Advanced Health Assessment, Gerontology, and Nursing Ethics and Informatics. Assignment of responsibilities will be based on experience and program need.

This position may include night, weekend, and teaching at alternate locations, along with possible interactive video teaching and other use of technology in teaching.

Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teaching course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities.

CMC Faculty are expected to engage in scholarly endeavors as well as service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.

Salary range: $57,492 – $74,144 depending upon education and experience.
