Job Description

Nursing Faculty Colorado Mountain College Summit County at Breckenridge and Dillon 

This full time faculty position begins in August 2018 with a 30 credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.

The successful candidate will teach a variety of didactic and clinical courses within the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Associates Degree in Nursing for registered nurses. Areas of teaching may include Medical- Surgical Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Gerontology, and related courses.

Position responsibilities will include travel to clinical locations and within CMC district, and may include evenings, and weekends at times.

Teaching responsibilities expected of all faculty include: teaching course load as assigned, evaluate courses and assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities.

CMC Faculty are generally expected to engage in scholarly endeavors as well as service activities such as campus and college committees, participation in relevant projects, mentor peers, participate in and assist with assessment activities, program review, student organization, recruiting and retention.

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to working in a culturally diverse environment and the ability to effectively work with students, employees, vendors and community members with diverse backgrounds. Conversational Spanish language abilities may be helpful.

Salary range: $57,492 – $74,144 depending upon education and experience/teaching experience in higher education.


Qualified candidates must be credentialed to teach in this program, or be eligible to be credentialed to teach in this program. Examples of ideal qualifications include:

Master’s Degree in Nursing and a minimum of 2,000 hours of verifiable related professional experience within the past five years and the equivalent one of year full time teaching/training experience. Higher education teaching experience preferred.  Candidates must possess an active, unencumbered Colorado RN license or the ability to obtain a Colorado Nursing License.
