The Global Information Technology (GIT) Organization invites applications for the position of Business Process Analyst – R&D Systems in our Global Development (GD), Global Technology team. We are seeking candidates who have a passion for learning about and experimenting with new, cutting edge technologies.  This role is part of the Global Development, Global Technology team within Global Information Technology, responsible for the development and rollout of IT solutions to Colgate’s Global Technology / R&D function.  Specific position responsibilties will include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic R&D objectives and determine how to apply technology to best support these objectives

 

  • Apply conceptual knowledge of business processes and technology to solve complex business process and procedural problems.

 

  • Understand cloud solution offerings and how they could be leveraged to meet requirements for R&D use cases involving imaging, big data and large scale dynamic computing/processing capabilities and how this should integrate with overall Global Technology data warehouse.

 

  • Develop functionality supporting Quantified Health solutions in conjunction with Emerging Technologies team - e.g. chatbots, voice command integrations, etc.

 

  • Collect and document requirements related to Formula Simplification process and design a solution to support and streamline this process including link to SKU Simplification.

 

  • Evaluate and lead implementation of new solutions to improve the collection and evaluation of external innovation ideas

 

  • Define and implement methodology for legacy data management/migration to the new OpenLAB system for GTC and plant lab rollouts.

 

  • Develop visualizations in Tableau to deliver:

    • Executive Dashboard to replace current BOBJ solution which has had to be removed from ourColgate due to ongoing issues.

    • S04 Compliance Dashboard to allow Global and local Quality teams assess risks and identify appropriate actions related to SOP document compliance.

 

The ideal candidate must have the ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, always exploring and innovating to implement the best possible solution. Prior experience working with R&D / Innovation teams and/or with scientific instrumentation, cloud platforms is a plus.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, Statistics, Science, Engineering or Business.

  • Minimum of 5 years in a technical IT role, developing, configuring and implementing business applications

  • 2 years experience working in ABAP and/or Webdynpro required

  • 2 years experience working in non-SAP development - Java, Javascript, C/C#/C++, Python

  • Prior experience with SAP developer tools and technologies

  • Strong technical, analytical, problem solving & conceptual skills

  • Ability to define, create, and complete a technical task with minimal guidance

  • Ability to adapt and work effectively with a variety of situations, individuals, and technologies

  • Ability to provide direction and mentorship to more junior technical resources  

  • Ability to prioritize multiple work assignments and deliver against deadlines

  • Strong verbal & written communication skills with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and translate complex business/scientific processes into system requirements

  • Good listening and collaboration skills to enhance project team effectiveness

  • Ability to work in with ambiguous requirements and identify appropriate stakeholders to resolved

 

Preferred:

  • Strong project management and facilitation skills

  • Working knowledge of consumer packaged goods industry

  • Understanding of Colgate’s processes, and tools supporting application development & project management

  • Experience working with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure, IBM)

  • Experience working in an R&D / Scientific environment

  • Experience with SAP MM, PPM, DMS, Workflow, Recipe Management/ Recipe Development, UI5 and EHS

  • Working knowledge / experience with cyber security (particularly in relation to work with cloud technologies)
