Job Description


Code.org is looking for an Events Intern to work with and support Code.org's Events Manager. Internship will primarily support events for Code.org facilitator and teacher professional development workshops across the U.S. This is a spring/summer internship, part-time, approximately 20-25 hours per week, with potential for more hours during "peak weeks" close to events.

Intern's responsibilities would include:

* Coordinating event logistics (booking travel, accommodations, catering); act as logistics point-of-contact for event attendees
* Assisting Events Manager with on-site event support
* Formatting, printing and organizing materials, packing and mailing supplies, proofreading and checking information (rooming lists, flight information, attendee lists and program tracks), and more.
* Utilizing our customer service system to respond to events-related questions from teachers and facilitators in a timely manner.
* Attending and participating in meetings and recording notes/follow-up items, as appropriate.
* Responding to requests for information, distributing materials externally.
* Special projects (enter data, prepare documentation, logistic improvements, develop templates, etc.)
* Opportunity to travel to and support up to two events this spring/summer


Must be extremely detail-oriented, possess exceptional writing and communications ability in English, and be tech-savvy (computer science background/experience not required). Must also be a self-starter, able to multi-task, excel under pressure, and work independently with a geographically dispersed team and main point of contact. Candidate should be flexible and willing to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment.


* 2 years of undergraduate studies preferred (no Computer Science background necessary)
* 1 year of work experience preferred
* Experience with Google Sheets and suite of products
* Ability to work legally in the United States
* Ability to and willingness to travel to support events in the United States, if needed
