The Assistant Actuary is responsible for gathering, preparing, and providing management with actuarial information through specific analyses and reports. The position relates to valuation, projection, and reporting of long-term care (LTC) insurance for CNO insurance companies. Additionally, the position is part of an actuarial student program that will require progression on exams and progress through the actuarial educational system.

Responsibilities:

* Assists with the creation of financial reporting on a GAAP, STAT and TAX basis for all LTC products
* Aids in successful completion of valuation responsibilities such as Plan / Forecast, LRT and CFT
* Develops highly transparent and actionable financial reporting
* Provides support for department by performing calculations and analysis under tight deadlines
* Works with internal and external audit to satisfy appropriate controls and documentation
* Partners with other departments to enhance coordination of projects and completion of organizational goals
* Provides clear communication of technical work
* Perform other duties as assigned
* Pursues exams through completion of FSA.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related field
* Associate of Society of Actuaries (ASA)
* 3+ Years of experience with Microsoft Office products and programming languages
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Committed to organizational core competencies
* Superior analytical thinking skills
* Demonstrates Initiative and Learning Agility
