Job Description

Cleveland Botanical Garden fall art exhibit planning and curation assistance. Hands on tasks will include organizing and planning a traditional arts/crafts exhibit as well as working with local artists to plan and design a Halloween pumpkin/botanical display. The learning opportunity consists of curating and planning an exhibition in a non-traditional gallery space. Although the internship will be completed before the art exhibit is installed, we may be able to pay the intern a stipend for assisting with the installation and other close- out duties as needed. The intern will learn about how to plan, design and manage the logistics of an exhibition. As time permits, exhibit preparation/ installation and event support could be part of the internship.

Skills: The intern should be a proactive, self-starter comfortable working independently and corresponding with professional artists, artisans, and administrative staff. Proficiencies should include good written and verbal communication skills, experience in a Windows/PC work environment, strong organization skills, web- based research experience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. The intern should also demonstrate an interest in non-traditional museums spaces such as formal gardens.

This position pays $15/hr, 28 hours a week for 9 weeks. In addition, you will receive a $500 stipend for completing the Arts Intern component of the program.
