Clark Regional Wastewater District is seeking one (1) full-time individual to serve as a Pretreatment Specialist.
The Pretreatment Specialist (Specialist) is responsible for performing technical and administrative duties in support of the Industrial Pretreatment and Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) Programs.
The Specialist collects, analyzes, and maintains data and information to evaluate and ensure compliance with wastewater and pretreatment regulations and permits.
The Specialist engages and effectively communicates with stakeholders, fostering professional working relationships between the District, other agency staff, customers, and the public.
Typical Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Federal, state, and local regulations applicable to municipal wastewater and industrial pretreatment.
Principles and processes for municipal and industrial wastewater treatment and operations.
Sampling protocols for industrial and municipal wastewater, QA/QC principles and procedures, and field measurement methods for data collection and analysis.
Skill in:
Operating, calibrating, and maintaining autosamplers, meters and other analytical equipment to ensure collection of representative and legally defensible data.
Reading and interpreting maps, drawings, plans, surveys, lab reports and other technical documents.

You'll need any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skill, and abilities to successfully perform the duties and fulfill the responsibilities of the position. A typical way to achieve that would be:
Associates Degree or equivalent technical training in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or a closely related field; experience may be substituted.
Two (2) years of responsible work experience in environmental compliance activities in a municipal or industrial wastewater treatment and collections environment. Experience regulating industrial users in a delegated pretreatment program is desired.
Salary range: $5,721 to $7,479 per month
Starting salary: $5,721 to $6,541 per month DOQ
