We currently have an opportunity for an entry level Civil Engineer to join our Indianapolis, IN office. The selected candidate will work as part of a team and contribute to the planning, design and construction of transportation projects for INDOT and LPA clients within the state of Indiana.

Primary Responsibilities

* Performs design tasks for a variety of roadway improvement projects under the direction of Sr. Engineers.
* Calculates quantities using Geopak and Excel and develops cost estimates in Bid Tabs and CES.
* Performs design calculations consisting of Level 1 Checklist and Sight Distance.
* Develops Maintenance of Traffic and culvert/storm sewer hydraulic design calculations.
* Develops alignment/grade and drainage systems plans in Geopak and roadway plans in MicroStation.
* Learns and applies INDOT Design Manual and AASHTO standards to complete tasks.
* Assists with field data collection and construction inspection/documentation as needed.
* Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

* B.S. degree in Civil Engineering with 3.0 cumulative GPA; EIT is required.
* Must have a strong interest in the field of transportation engineering and a desire to learn and develop skills toward becoming a licensed Professional Engineer.
* Previous transportation engineering experience (fulltime or internship) is desired.
* Demonstrated ability to learn and apply civil engineering fundamentals to academic or real-world projects
* Strong communication skills with the ability to write design memos and work as part of a team to meet project deadlines and budgets
* Previous experience or familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation V8i, GEOPAK, ArcGIS, HCS and Synchro are desired. Proficiency with MS Office is required
