Clerk I - Finance PT

Salary:            $14.70 Hourly


Closing Date: 4/6/2018



Assists with special projects, performs accurate data entry and other office duties as needed.


Essential & Ancillary Job Duties:

Essential Job Duties
• Enter financial data into City software program.
• Research, prepare, and draft documents for special projects.
• Create and update spreadsheets pertaining to City financial activity.
• Handle cash and balance cash drawer.
• Balance consolidated cash deposits and post daily receipts.
• Maintain a positive, productive environment, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, goals, and objectives of the City, Department, and Division.
Ancillary Job Duties
• Perform general clerical duties, such as filing, copying, and answering phones.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.


Job Qualifications & Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Job Qualifications
Education, experience and training that are required or desirable in order to effectively perform the job at the time of hire.  An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered.  Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of HR.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year related clerical experience required.
• Municipal experience preferred.
• Cash handling experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills and abilities commonly associated with this position.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and the ability to learn multiple software packages quickly.
• Proficient keyboarding skills.
• Ability to operate basic office equipment, including photocopier, fax, and phone system.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Attention to detail and the ability to maintain focused concentration.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Work Environment
Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the duties of this job.
• Primarily an indoor work environment.
• Exposed to moderate noise levels.
