Job Description

WHY INTERN WITH US?

As a Student Intern, you will learn and gain practical experience in the field of Architecture/Landscape Architecture while working in our City Facilities Architectural Services Division in the Department of Public Works. This opportunity will expose you to the processes required to provide architectural support for various types of municipal projects. You will have the opportunity to work with various City departments as well as private engineering and architectural/landscape architecture firms. This is an opportunity to learn in a large organization and contribute to the development of municipal facilities.

We are hiring one Architecture Intern and one Landscape Architecture Intern.

Intern opportunity from June 2019-September 2019. Duties include:

  • Provide support to project managers by preparing plans and schematic designs in AutoCAD.
  • Review architectural/landscape architectural plans and specifications prepared by consultants and in-house staff.
  • Provide construction management support including submittal review, recording meeting minutes, and photo documentation during site visits.
  • Scan and file electronic record drawings, standard specifications, and standard details.
  • Assist in administrative tasks of filing and archiving projects.
  • Perform project research.
