About the Position

Job Opportunity

The City of Las Vegas Youth Development & Social Innovation Department, Safekey Division is seeking qualified Batteries Included interns for the Safekey program. The purpose of this recruitment is to establish an eligible list for future openings.

What are the requirements for this position?

* Senior in High School.
* First Aid and CPR Certification at time of hire/reclassification.
* Computer experience required.
* No credit deficiencies.
* Student must have and maintain a 2.75 G.P.A.
* Student must sign an agreement at the time of hire.
* Attach a copy of current high school transcript to their application.
* Complete Employability Training.
* Completion of the Strong Future Las Vegas employability training is required in order to be eligible for employment.
* Attach 1 page Essay:
* TOPIC: What area of the interviewing process would you like to improve on? If this area was improved, how would this affect your professional career? (Ex: Resume formatting, business attire or interviewing abilities)

Position Summary

This position performs routine, entry-level work under close supervision. This position conducts programs for children aged from kindergarten through 5th grade at satellite Safekey elementary school sites. Programs include structured and unstructured activities to best meet participants' needs. Planned activities includes arts and crafts, storytelling, quiet games, recreational games, outside playtime, homework assistance, and other special activities.

Duties include but are not limited to:

* Assist with set-up and breakdown of equipment and supplies for program or special event and cleaning of area and equipment.
* Ensures safety of participants during program events and activities.
* Provides assistance to full-time or part-time classified staff or designee.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
