Job Description

Tax Clerk  Part- Time

City of Kettering, OH City of Kettering, OH

Part-time 28 hour/week

Tax Clerk in the Tax Division of the City's Finance Department.

Responsible for answering telephone inquiries as well as directing phone, in-person and e-mail inquiries to the appropriate staff member, opening incoming mail, inputting payments into the tax software, uploading electronic payments from various sources and ensuring they are accurately applied to accounts in the tax software, and entering W-2 and tax return data. Must have good knowledge of office clerical practices, excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, and excellent technology skills with the ability to problem solve and apply logic to situations appropriate for the position. Related financial, tax and/or banking experience desired.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work and communicate effectively with staff, other City employees and the general public. Applicant should have at least a high school graduate-level of ability in English, grammar, and business math.

Pay range $12.81/hour to $19.94/hour.; prorated holiday, vacation, and sick leave.
