The City of Fairborn is seeking a candidate to help continue the forward momentum of a city that is experiencing significant commercial and residential growth. He/she supervises a stable and competent staff. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership, supervisory, and citizen engagement capabilities; and have experience in civil project management.

Examples of the City Engineer's responsibilities include managing the project design process including design consultants, plan review, right-of-way acquisition, staff involvement, public involvement, and interagency coordination; reviewing development plans, permit plans for right-of-way work, and subdivision plans and plats to ensure they meet applicable City ordinances, standards, and specifications; communicating with the public, City staff, design consultants, contractors, utility companies, developers, other government entities, project stakeholders, and the media through written, telephone, and face-to-face communication; and preparing and making presentations to City Council for Engineering Division items, just to name a few.
