The Office of the CBNA Chief Risk Officer and Citigroup Chief Credit Officer is responsible for the management of credit, market and operational risk for CBNA and for overseeing credit risk and country risk strategy for Citigroup. In addition, the Office is responsible for risk governance and regulatory-driven initiatives. The Office partners closely with the broader Risk Management organization and the Businesses to actively manage risk in a manner consistent with CBNA's Risk Appetite. Further, in order to ensure a strong risk and governance culture across the firm, reporting directly to and administratively to the CBNA CRO and Chief Credit Officer are distinct independent verification, control and review functions that collectively help to reinforce compliance with Heightened Standards.

The Cross Business Risk team provides analytical support to the different teams in the Office and works on a variety of strategic initiatives for the Chief Credit Officer. The team also has primary responsibility for a portfolio of countries including monitoring and assessing macroeconomic and political risk, and managing annual country reviews.

The Cross Business Risk team is seeking a Risk Analyst at the AVP level who will split their time conducting country risk analysis in support of the Global Country Risk Management team (one of the teams in the Office) and provide support on various other assignments which are of importance to the Office. The role offers a unique opportunity to combine economic analysis, strategic planning, and risk management and provides good exposure to management. The ideal candidate is willing to act as a true utility player in a multitude of capacities.

In the context of country risk analysis, key responsibilities include:

* Maintaining a range of excel-based models and economic databases used for a range of macroeconomic analyses
* Frequently producing/updating PowerPoint presentations (containing a range of tables/charts)
* For a portfolio of countries, assessing sovereign creditworthiness, regularly monitoring country developments, and working closely with risk/business to take appropriate risk management decisions
* Coordinating the Scenario Planning process for a number of assigned countries (this involves preparing presentation templates and then working with senior business/risk counterparts in the respective Citi country offices to articulate the country strategy, assess their financial performance, and determine any changes to risk limits)

In the context of other CBNA Chief Risk Office teams, key responsibilities include:

* Support high-impact projects and analysis that span the organization. Areas of focus tend to be regulatory-driven and often require an assessment, identification and remediation of more unified approaches to managing similar risks
* Establish key risk limits and processes for CBNA, and review and revise, where appropriate, specific risk management policies
* Support several operational and administrative activities for the Basel Interpretive Office (one of the teams in the Office)
* Contribute to work products presented to Senior Management
* Undergraduate degree (majors in in Economics, Finance, Statistics or related areas are preferred)
* Superior problem-solving skills, including the ability to think creatively while maintaining an uncompromising attentiveness to detail
* Excellent quantitative skills, including the ability to work with large databases and perform statistical analysis
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel and PowerPoint in particular). Familiarity with Bloomberg and/or Haver is a plus
* Excellent communication skills (oral, written) and strong project management skills
* Ability to manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a collaborative environment
* Comfortable operating in an environment with some ambiguity and able to take direction from various stakeholders
* Strong understanding of core concepts in macroeconomics and finance gained via prior coursework (at undergraduate level) in economics and finance and/or 1-2 years of experience working in financial markets
* Knowledge of Citi's risk organization and policies is a plus
