Job Summary

The Information Technology student will be introduced to the Information Technology Department / Workstations & Help Desk. They will become familiar with IT policies, processes, and procedures. The student will provide assistance to technical projects and services throughout their assignment. They will also work on personal computer hardware delivery and setups, load personal computer software images and work on basic personal computer tech/help desk support.

Minimum Qualifications

Skills, Education and Experience:

* Must be at least a junior or senior level student (Computer Science, Management Information Systems or other technical degree).
* GPA of 3.0 or above (A=4.0).
* PC hardware and software installation experience.
* Working knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.
* Communicate and interact effectively with all levels in the Corporation.
* Must work well in a team setting.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Must be willing to work in a flexible environment which is fast paced and customer driven.

Job Duties

Enforce network security and information asset protection policies and procedures assisted by technology to protect CITGO information assets in accordance with the acceptable risk levels determined by information asset owners. With the goal to ensure CITGO network security infrastructure provides an effective level of protection consistent with acceptable risk levels. Participate in the development of technical designs and implement (configure or code) software solutions to support business process improvements. Development may include custom programming using CITGO approved development tools and/or package software configuration. Participate in the Implementation and maintenance of information system security schemes to provide confidentiality, integrity and availability of CITGO information assets at Houston and remote sites. Ensure that assets are protected through monitoring and incident response. Configures and maintains user access to CITGO network resources and data based on corporate policies, procedures and standards. Providing end users with least privilege required for job requirements. Independently investigate production system problems/questions ascertaining root cause and corrective action needed. Conduct network security awareness programs to educate CITGO management, employees, and information asset owners on information asset protection policies and procedures to ensure each employee understands his/her role in protecting CITGO network assets. Participates in the planning processes of all CITGO network security projects. Create plans, provides estimated target dates and tracks project progress.
