Direct account and partner responsibilities for selected major accounts in assigned territory. Provide high-level and detailed solutions/technology/product consulting, technical and sales support in assigned territory. Understand business requirements for customer base and have the ability to translate them into technical requirements. Understand and articulate Cisco’s service provider architectures and services. Facilitate better communications and understanding of customer requirements between customers, corporate and the field. Create, present and document technical service provider solutions. Perform in-depth and high-level technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects. Direct and assist in the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities. Provide consultative support to other Virtual Team Specialists and Systems Engineers in assigned territory. Actively participate as a specialist on assigned Virtual Team and Solutions Team. Mentor other Systems Engineers in the assigned territory. Provide business level guidance to account team or operation on technology trends and competitive threats. Viewed as a leader by senior management, peers and customers. Must have multiple areas of technical specialization.
In-depth knowledge of baseline SE skills and in-depth knowledge in more than one area of specialization. High-level knowledge and strong operating experience in more than one of the following area's of specialization: Datacenter technologies such as x86/server technology, Unified fabric and Compute technologies, VMware, SAN’s, IP/MPLS, Metro Ethernet, VPN's, SP Security, QoS, Remote/Local Access, Multi-Service (Voice and Video), Optical Networking. Expert knowledge of the following routing/signaling protocols: BGP, IS-IS, OSPF. Have extremely detailed knowledge of relevant service provider solutions sets, product line specifications, performance criteria and applications. Thorough competitive knowledge (in their area of specialization) including solution, technology and product offerings. Understanding and conversant about company, competitors, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Must be viewed as a leader by senior management, peers, customers and Cisco corporate organizations. Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills. Ability to participate as a team member and assume a leadership role for the team. Technical knowledge and consultative skills, which are above reproach. Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources.
10+ years related experience. Cisco experience required. Cisco product experience required. Competitive product experience required. Pre-Sales experienced required. Typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent. CCIE certification highly desirable and/or preferred.
