Division of Allergy and Immunology

Job description:

Two postdoctoral and/or research associate positions are available immediately in Dr. Marc Rothenberg's laboratory. The Rothenberg lab is focused on allergic responses especially in mucosal tissues such as the lung and the gastrointestinal tract, and aims to understand mechanisms, develop drug targets and identify novel therapeutic strategies and agents. The candidate would focus on 1) genomics, genetics, and molecular immunology of several novel susceptibility loci and pathways involved in allergic diseases, or 2) develop, synthesize and/or evaluate small molecule detectors and inhibitors of signaling pathway molecules relevant in allergic diseases (with a focus on proteases, particularly calpain-14).

Education, training, experience:

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a PhD or equivalent in biomedical research and/or 3+ years of experience in either 1) big data analysis, molecular and cellular immunology and/or genetics; or 2) protein structure or enzymology, and organic compound synthesis and evaluation. A working knowledge of the immune system and enzymology is preferable.
