Cigna Investment Management (CIM) manages assets exclusively for Cigna's employee benefits and shareholder portfolios by leveraging expertise in public securities, private placements, commercial mortgages, equity real estate, capital markets products and alternative asset-class investing to deliver superior investment returns. The Investment Operations group supports the post-transaction investment process through a variety of teams.

Internship Responsibilities

* The Investment Operations Intern will be expected to learn the general operating parameters related to various teams that support the post-transaction investment process. Assignments will be available in a wide range of areas and will consist of a number of challenging projects - the results of which are critical to moving our business forward.
* Learning and support may include: income and settlement scenarios, pricing, banking & custody, adviser compliance, and data management.
* The selected intern is also expected to participate in and potentially lead projects relating to the design and development of efficient processes, management reporting, data maintenance, data control, and other efforts that are designed to benefit one or more operational teams.

The Investment Management Summer Experience will offer interns:

* The availability of on-the-job training in an Investment Operations capacity.
* The opportunity for visibility with senior management.
* One-on-one learning with investment operation professionals, who will share their knowledge, experience, and assume roles as Individual coaches and mentors

Preferred Qualifications

* Excellent academic credentials (3.3+ CUM GPA), with a concentration in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or Business Data Analytics
* Proficient Computer Skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
* Superior written and oral communication skills.
* Able to take instruction, but also know when to shift to a self-directed path within an assignment

One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation.
