Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

As a member of the IT Infrastructure Services team, the network support technician will provide technical services in the installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosis of computer hardware, peripheral equipment, and software; to install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair local- and wide-area network cabling; to diagnose network hardware and peripheral equipment; and to provide user support and assistance to Chubb Agribusiness employees and independent agents.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provides first level help desk support for Chubb Agribusiness, independent Brokers and Chubb Group employees.

Provides on-site and remote network support for Chubb Agribusiness, Chubb Group, and Rain & Hail as assigned through the help desk, project lead, or the Manager of IT Infrastructure Services.

Provides Moves/Adds/Changes for Chubb Agribusiness, Chubb Group, and Rain & Hail as assigned through the help desk, project lead, or the Manager of IT Infrastructure Services.

Performs proactive maintenance on Chubb Agribusiness' network on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis. Completes proactive maintenance reports.

Assists with network implementation projects and provides project status updates.

Maintains IT inventory control database.

Accurately documents all help desk tickets.

Phone system administration.

Provides Moves/Adds/Changes for the Chubb Agribusiness telephone system as assigned through the help desk, or the Manager of IT Infrastructure Services.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Four year college degree; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The successful candidate will have the following skills and abilities:

Technical - Installation, configuration, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and diagnosis of microcomputers, computer/network hardware, and peripheral equipment; installation, maintenance, and inspection of network cabling and hardware; Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems and Active Directory; basic PC and network training techniques; basic network security practices, policies, and procedures.
