Functional Accountabilities

Strategic Planning
  1. With Supervisor , contribute to strategic plan for department services.
  2. Collect and analyze customer feedback and evaluate service/department.
  3. With Supervisor, incorporate findings into plans to modify program/service delivery.
Maintain
  1. Maintain supply/linen level in all Nursing units.
  2. Inspect supply areas, rotate dated materials.
  3. Maintain and update all in house CODE BLUE Carts.
Human Resources Management
  1. In collaboration with Supervisor, train, make staff schedules, develop and direct assigned staff to meet departmental objectives.
  2. Provide timely coaching and performance feedback.
  3. Deploy staff appropriately to meet business goals.
Information Technology
  1. Use of MMIS to manage inventory.

Internship Program

The internship program provides the novice nurse with the knowledge base and skill set needed to transition to competence in clinical nursing practice. While providing the needed skills to meet the organization goals and mission, the program provides nurses with the leadership skills to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The program bridges the gap between undergraduate education and real-life professional nursing practice, delivering state-of-the art pediatric care.

The program is offered to new graduate nurses from an accredited nursing program with a passion for children. All new graduates, with less than one-year acute care experience, are eligible to participate in the program after obtaining licensure.
