Required Skills/Knowledge

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential. Working knowledge of gift accounting and fundraising principles. Ability to function easily in complex organization. Skilled use of database systems, spreadsheets and project management tools. Knowledge of comprehensive major gift fundraising model and management experience in a fundraising setting desirable. Knowledge of gift agreements and grants management.

Functional Accountabilities

Budget Administration
  1. Ensure monthly budget tracking reports are accurate and distributed in a timely fashion, along with analysis for budget variance to aid in decision-making.
  2. Provide oversight of the Foundation's annual budget preparation process, include training for Foundation staff.
  3. Ensure budget users receive high-level customer serivce, include financial custom reporting, to assist in budget planning.
  4. Research variances and recommend appropriate budget action steps to allow for more efficient spending.
  5. Ensure quality control measures are utilized to ensure accurate budgets.
Internal Stewardship
  1. Manage the Foundation's gift agreements, contracts, Special Purpose Funds and provide oversight for the set-up of philanthropic grants.
  2. Collaborate with staff to develop Foundation policies and procedures.
  3. Maintain the Foundation's files of records for gift and grant agreements, Special Purpose Funds and contracts.
Project Management
  1. Provide oversight for Business Operations project planning, management, and reporting to enable the team to meet both short and long term goals.
  2. Implement a project management system and ensure team members are trained in its use.
  3. Utilize project management tools to provide status updates to team members and leadership for priority initiatives.
  4. Provide analysis of project outcomes vs. anticipated results to inform continued work and/or future project planning.
Office Management
  1. Provide oversight of the organization and coordination of office operations, procedures and resources to facilitate the Foundation's effectiveness and efficiency.
  2. Ensure the Foundation's Accounting needs are handled accurately and efficiently.

Internship Program

The internship program provides the novice nurse with the knowledge base and skill set needed to transition to competence in clinical nursing practice. While providing the needed skills to meet the organization goals and mission, the program provides nurses with the leadership skills to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The program bridges the gap between undergraduate education and real-life professional nursing practice, delivering state-of-the art pediatric care.

The program is offered to new graduate nurses from an accredited nursing program with a passion for children. All new graduates, with less than one-year acute care experience, are eligible to participate in the program after obtaining licensure.
