Functional Accountabilities

Professional Practice/Research
1 Facilitate maximum adoption of direct messaging by primary health system and community providers via curriculum development and multi-modal presentation techniques including web sessions and face to face practice visits
2 Monitor and report utilization of above
3 Facilitate implementation of population health registries based on organizational priorities and needs of providers in health system.  Works with all teams for enhanced registry adoption, and incorporation into workflow leading to improved patient outcomes.
4 Monitor registry measure percentages, work with divisions for improved outcomes
5 Facilitate training of providers on use of clinical data sharing frameworks including CommonWell, Carequality and HIE's and incorporation into daily workflow
New Knowledge, Innovations, and Improvements
1 Improve community physician knowledge on importance of integrating care between community and primary health system.
2 Develop instructional aids including training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, and computer tutorials in order to deliver concise material about new technology 
3 Evaluate effectiveness of training and development programs, and utilize relevant evaluation data to revise or recommend changes in instructional objectives and methods
4 Assist in analyzing and assessing training and development needs for individuals, departments, and/or external organizations

Internship Program

The internship program provides the novice nurse with the knowledge base and skill set needed to transition to competence in clinical nursing practice. While providing the needed skills to meet the organization goals and mission, the program provides nurses with the leadership skills to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. The program bridges the gap between undergraduate education and real-life professional nursing practice, delivering state-of-the art pediatric care.

The program is offered to new graduate nurses from an accredited nursing program with a passion for children. All new graduates, with less than one-year acute care experience, are eligible to participate in the program after obtaining licensure.
