Job Summary

This position supports the operation of the lactation program across the enterprise. Daily responsibilities involve human milk management, lactation rental station operations and management, and overall operations of the lactation program throughout the enterprise. This position will also perform data management and quality improvement and/or research roles such as data entry, database management and assisting with implementation of research protocols as needed.

Job Responsibilities

* Manages administrative and clerical functions of the lactation program:
* Maintains all databases
* Maintains minutes for lactation program related meetings
* Copies and manages educational packet organization for department and lactation program courses
* Maintains contact/distribution lists related to lactation program
* Completes reports as requested by leadership
* Participates in hospital wide breastfeeding committee meetings, preparing and distributing research articles, attendance sheet, and managing and distributing minutes
* Regularly participates in Human Milk Management Center Rounds, preparing and distributing EPIC list, managing and distributing minutes
* Manages CHOP lactation rental station
* Organizes and processes rentals and returns
* Maintains receipts for rental station and database of income
* Provides customer service to clients in managing all aspects of rental program
* Manages inspection and maintenance of all rental station equipment
* Monitors hospital wide and N/IICU lactation equipment and lactation rooms
* Performs daily audits of lactation rooms
* Performs audits of all lactation equipment per schedule
* Collaborates with Biomedical engineering for equipment inspection and servicing
* Escalates any issues to appropriate leadership or department
* Facilitates a clean and safe environment of care related to human milk storage
* Performs daily hospital-wide human milk management rounds
* Identifies environmental needs and initiates necessary follow up
* Facilitates work orders as necessary
* Assists with human milk shipment and safe disposal as needed
* Maintains human milk management databases
* Functions as resource for hospital staff for lactation and human milk related needs
* Coordinates with MMB Coordinator in the process of checking, packing, and shipping milk
* Serves as resource for questions about lactation equipment, rentals, and insurance provided pumps
* Data management activities
* Assists with implementation and data collection for quality improvement and/or research protocols and procedures related to the lactation program
* Assists with subject recruitment for all research and/or quality improvement projects related to the lactation program
* Conducts literature searches as directed by program leadership
* Communication
* Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication (written and verbal) skills
* Communicates appropriately at multiple levels across the enterprise

Required Licenses, Certifications, Registrations

Required Education and Experience

Required Education: High School / GED

Required Experience: Three (3) years of related administrative or clinical support experience in a maternal child health, public health or academic setting.

Preferred Education, Experience & Cert/Lic

Preferred Education: Associates Degree

* Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Ability to handle confidential materials and matters.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
* Ability to learn and operate multiple technology software
* Ability to promote cooperation between individuals and departments to provide best systems for care and customer service
* Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
