Works as an empowered employee within established guidelines, procedures, and protocols to provide administrative and operational support to Security Services department manager, supervisors, security officers, dispatchers, and shuttle drivers for the care, welfare, safety, services, and security of hospital personnel, visitors, patients, and property.


  • High school diploma or equivalent


  • Valid Georgia driver’s license


  • 5 years of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or public relations in a supervisory capacity

  1. Assesses neighborhood locations for required security systems to be installed at each current and new neighborhood location.
  2. Participates in construction meetings for new and expanded neighborhood locations.
  3. Coordinates vendor activities regarding installation of security equipment at neighborhood locations.
  4. Conducts and documents bimonthly testing of all installed security systems at neighborhood locations.
  5. Participates in planning meetings with campus-based supervisors and senior supervisors regarding Children's Healthcare of Atlanta security issues.
  6. Acts as immediate supervisor for Children's Office Park Security Supervisor(s).
  7. Coordinates and conducts appropriate training with Security Supervisors and Security Officers.
  8. Acts as liaison with other departments to promote Security department mission.
  9. Coordinates security responsibilities during special events.
  10. Responds to unusual situations, incidents, or complaints.
  11. Ensures adequate security coverage is available and assigned as needed or intended through proper scheduling.
  12. Seeks out and attends various training opportunities to remain current on security and professional issues.
  13. Performs quality control function with regard to Security Supervisors and Security Officers and the performance of their duties.
  14. Assist Supervisor and/or Manager with development of staff by: being available to teammates, acting as a resource to help complete complicated/complex tasks, providing on the job training to team, and seeking out opportunities to become actively involved in staff workflow and development.
  15. Provide Supervisor and/or Manager feedback on staff performance, educational needs, and workflow status.


Safety: Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Responsible for the reporting of employee/patient/visitor injuries or accidents, or other safety issues to the supervisor and in the occurrence notification system.


Compliance: Monitors and ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements, organizational standards, and policies and procedures related to area of responsibility. Identifies potential risk areas within area of responsibility and supports problem resolution process. Maintains records of compliance activities and reports compliance activities to the Compliance Office.
