JOB SUMMARY

To perform diagnostic quality imaging procedures for the care of the patient population we serve and participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team in an outpatient environment.  To proactively support the efforts that ensures delivery of safe patient care and services and to promote a safe environment at Children's.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Satisfactory completion of AMA approved school of radiologic technology.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • One year of radiography experience in a hospital radiology department is preferred.
  • BLS certification is required within 30 days of hire

RESPONSIBILITIES

Operates all radiographic equipment using standardized procedures.

Performs radiographic procedures using standardized pediatric positioning techniques.

Observes all radiation safety precautions to minimize patient, visitor and staff exposure.

Documents all information on the patient’s images, order requests, consents and other medical records.

Ensures patient safety and quality of care/service provided.

Participates in the Quality Improvement activities for the Radiology section.

Participates in the achievement of organizational and department goals.

Attends all required system and departmental education opportunities.

Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion at all times keeping radiographic rooms stocked with supplies on a daily basis. Reports shortages of supplies to Supervisor.

Assists all staff with patient care duties

11.Provides assistance to the business associate 

Maintains professional skills and technical competency to do their assigned tasks.

Follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Uses critical thinking principles in making decisions, which lead to desired outcomes.

Performs related responsibilities as required.

Provides proof of ARRT certification and proof of CPR certification renewal within 30 days of expiration.

While clinical staff may serve a specific patient population, they have the potential to care for        patients within the age population range served at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Clinical staff will have competencies that will incorporate age specific guidelines. This age population includes:

                                    N = Neonate (less than 30 days)

                                     I = Infant (30 days to 1 year)

                                    EC = Early Childhood (1-5 years)

                                    LC = Late Childhood (5-13 years)

                                    A = Adolescent (13-17 years)

                                    AD = Adult

                                    ALL - all ages
