About Child Protection Center

Since 1992, the Center for Child Protection has been providing investigative and therapeutic services at no cost and without a waiting list to Travis County children ages 12 and younger and to their protective caregivers. Since the Center began serving families, more than 7,500 children have received forensic interview services. Although we have been able to meet the needs of young abused and neglected children, our ability to expand investigative and intervention services to all abused children is currently challenged by the limited capacity of our current facility. The new Kozmetsky Center for Child Protection, currently under construction, will provide better protection and care for all abused and neglected children in our community. In January of 2005, we launched a $9,100,000 capital campaign for the construction of the Kozmetsky Center for Child Protection. As of April 5, 2007, we have reached the campaign goal! Our deepest gratitude to everyone who pledged to the campaign. They all add up to a safer community for children! You can expect to receive an invitation to the grand opening in early 2008, at which we will celebrate a very successful campaign, and a milestone for the protection of children in the community. Read our October 2006 Capital Campaign Newsletter (includes a pledge form). Read about our groundbreaking - November 15, 2006. Read about the conclusion of the successful campaign - April 18, 2007
