Job Description


The Development & Construction Department is focused on the development and construction of new Chick-fil-A restaurants. This process includes leading the due diligence for new restaurants, overseeing entitlement, permit and utility approvals for new restaurants, proactively communicating with Operators to ensure a smooth transition into their new restaurant, and leading contractors and vendors through the construction process.

The Development & Construction Summer Intern can expect to:

* Partner with D&C and Design personnel to understand and support new restaurant construction.
* Perform market research to understand what's possible with respect to new restaurant construction
* Build relationships internally, with CFA current partners and with new vendors to understand successful departmental outcomes and opportunities for new technology and construction means & methods


* Support Development & Construction in various activities including Pre-Construction, Data and Insights, Platforms and Innovation
* Create simulations and training to assist staff and outside partners with continuous improvement on project performance via Data and Insights, Lean Development, Lean Construction, and Prefabrication
* Partner with Lean Champions and others to drive innovation. Areas of activity could include:
* Prefabrication - Incorporating additional trades to current pre-fab play
* Modular - Pursing more modular elements to new restaurant construction
* Lean - Improving Lean tools and driving embedment of Lean Culture
* Data & Insights - Driving focused insights that create a more competitive backdrop to those involved in project execution
* 3D Printing - Understand how 3D printing could be deployed in new restaurant construction to drive improved performance in time, quality and cost

Minimum Qualifications

* Undergraduate junior majoring in Engineering, Architecture, Building Construction or other related major (must be returning to school Fall 2020)
* Minimum 3.0 GPA
* Self-starter
* Demonstrated leadership
