This is a twelve-week program designed to engage you in day-to-day activities and projects contributing towards our team and corporate goals scheduled to begin in the latter part of May and last through mid-August. You will also have the opportunity to apply what you have learned in the educational offerings to actual business situations. As a summer intern at Cboe, you will have the unique opportunity to learn about the financial industry through various educational offerings.

The Security Operations Intern position is intended to provide exposure to the various functions, tools, and activities of a Security Operations Center. The Security Operations Intern will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that provide real-world, hands-on experience in the Information Security field. You will interact with members of the Information Security Team and end users throughout the organization to answer questions and resolve security-related issues. Ultimately this will be an opportunity to explore possible avenues to a career in Information Security


The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate student with a strong technology emphasis, majoring in MIS, Computer Science or related field and a demonstrated interest in cyber security. This candidate should be able to perform basic administrative tasks on at least one operating system such as Linux or Windows. In addition, you should have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. The intern will present a final report or complete a project tailored as much as possible to their particular area of interest.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Monitor the security ticket queue to answer requests and assist with issue resolution.
* Assist with monitoring and triage of information security alerts.
* Update security filtering tools' access control and white|black lists.
* Update security diagrams, reports, and Security Operations procedures.
