Full-stack Software Engineer (Live tutoring App)
Engineering | San Francisco, CA, United States
Organization: InstaEDU was acquired by Chegg in the Summer 2014 and is now Chegg Tutors. We connect students with tutors from top universities -- anytime, anywhere. On Chegg tutors, students can get last-minute help, do regular lessons throughout the semester, or connect when a quick question arises during an assignment. Our individually screened tutors cover more than 2,500 subjects, ranging from basic subjects to AP material to advanced college courses.
Role: We're looking for an experienced full-stack software engineer who loves working on a wide variety of challenges. As we build out our peer-to-peer education platform and improve on our collaboration technologies, we're seeing that InstaEDU can effectively replace traditional tutoring services. Our engineering team tackles challenges including real-time chat, lesson scheduling, notifications, and creating a lesson space that rivals in-person learning. Be prepared to go outside your comfort zone everyday and learn as you work.
Responsibilities :
Develop key features and take an algorithmic approach to improve product effectiveness
Take ownership of significant features
Work closely with both product and design teams to create the best product possible
Communicate and collaborate with all teams at Chegg
Requirements :
Strong Python programming skills
2+ years relevant experience
Proficient with HTML, CSS, and Javascript
Flexible and willing to adapt as new engineering challenges arise
Passion for Chegg's product and mission
BA/BS degree with a strong academic record (or equivalent work experience)
