The organization - Platform Infrastructure, Product Services

Our Platform Infrastructure team is responsible for the platform used to build the Java services that provide the business logic and data access to our front end code. We're seeking a Software Engineer who's passionate about building great software that helps millions of students save time, save money and get smarter

The role - Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer you will help drive the evolution of the Platform vision and work on translating that vision into implementation designed for simplicity and scale. You will help power the core of a Platform relied upon every day by millions of students. You will work on our hardest problems, building high quality, architecturally sound systems that are aligned with our business needs. You will need to think globally when building systems, ensuring Chegg builds high performing, scalable systems that work well together.

Responsibilities

Develop new Platform services and features
Develop the core distributed systems and make sure they're robust and scalable
Build the next generation of systems that help our customers get smarter while saving money and time

Requirements

1-3 years of combined experience in large-scale software development
Experience in JEE, REST/Web Services and other distributed technologies and architectures
Experience building REST API's for others to consume
Experience working within a platform team
Experience in OO development skills
Experience in design patterns and distributed systems
Understanding of modern agile development methodologies and test-driven, iterative development practices
Strong interpersonal skill and oral and written communication skills.
A BSCS or BSEE is required.
