We make high quality, highly engineered products that improve people’s lives, advance medical research and contribute to a cleaner, more sustainable world.  Chart's Ball Ground, GA facility is currently seeking candidates interested in the position of Production Supervisor. This individual will direct and coordinate departmental activities to achieve safe and timely production of quality products which meet or exceed customer expectations 100% of the time.

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Develop and implement daily and weekly work week plans and schedules for the department.
  • Utilize employee resources and equipment to achieve production plans and schedules within a specified time frame.
  • Train, inform and orient employees to specific procedures, processes and objectives of department, stressing and promoting quality and safety standards.
  • Maintain production, required personnel attendance, right-to-know and training records and other records pertaining to the department.
  • Interface with other departments in coordinating raw materials, parts, assemblies, completed units and personnel.
  • Direct employee problems to the appropriate authorities for assistance, resolution and response.
  • Continually evaluate work flow and processes, and further recommend more efficient and effective procedures in an effort to minimize costs.
  • Complete objective performance appraisals on a timely basis and review outcomes with employees.
  • Participate in weekly supervisory meetings in an effort to increase and maintain up-to-date communications and relay pertinent information to departmental employees.
  • Update manufacturing manager on progress of production plans and schedules.
  • Administer work rules, regulations and disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Appraise employee performance and recommend change of status and wage adjustments.
  • Observe and practice safety procedures and policies.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
  • Insure TDD, drawing and specification information is current to all production W/O’s.
  • Documents all drawing and BOM discrepancies. Submits drawing redlines and BOM issues to the engineering group.
  • Utilizes problem solving techniques and QA resources when product defects are recognized.
  • Insure all company policies, procedures, and safety objectives are followed. Report all findings.
  • Review and plan weekly schedules and meet throughput objectives by utilizing flexible resources.
  • Identify shortages and communicate in writing weekly shortfalls to purchasing.
  • Communicate production pending information with the Master Scheduler and production team.
  • Continually seek improvements for all 5S and lean manufacturing objectives.
  • Continual input for improvement of production processes effecting product flow and throughput.

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • Minimum of five years manufacturing experience in related area.
  • Understand and use basic blueprints.
  • Understand and use basic math.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Company safety procedures and policies.
  • Awareness and understanding of Company quality standards.
  • J.D. Edwards and Excel is a plus.
  • Welding experience is a plus.

Your Education Should Be…

  • High School Diploma or GED

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

  • Frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting and occasional crawling.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs., occasional heavier lifting.
  • Frequent pushing, pulling and handling of materials.
  • Frequent carrying up to 50 lbs
