Job Description

What Your Day-to-Day Activities Will Be…

  • Performs maintenance Electrician's duties and functions when required.
  • Identifies and correct malfunctions of electronic control systems.
  • Maintains all records of calibration of equipment as required.
  • Repair and replace components as necessary.
  • Assist or guide other Maintenance employees as required.
  • Overhaul, repair and fabricate parts and/or maintain a broad variety of equipment.
  • Disassembles, moves, reassembles, and aligns plant machinery and equipment.
  • Uses a variety of instruments and diagnostic techniques to identify malfunctions of hydraulic and pneumatic powered and controlled equipment and precision machinery.
  • In addition to work described above, must be able to perform the work of a millwright.
  • Must be certified in NDE (Dye Check).
  • Must be certified to weld structural steel attachments.

 

Your Professional Experience Should Be…

  • The Individual who performs this job must have sufficient knowledge and training of physical properties of the assigned area as well as tools and equipment for repairing and/or adjusting.
  • Must have successfully completed an accredited 4 year journeyman program.
  • Knowledge and skills are acquired through on-the-job training and some vocational school training.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and electronic aptitude and ability.
  • Must have ability to interpret sketches, schematics and blueprints.
  • Must exhibit mechanical aptitude.
  • Be very reliable when executing work assignments.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require…

Job requires moving about on foot majority of the time. Incumbent works indoors most of the time and occasionally out doors at which time extreme exposure to heat or cold may exist.

                           

Individuals may occasionally work in high places. Ear plugs, overalls, masks and cold weather gear are provided. Exposure to oils, solvents, and Freon may be present in some assignments. Exposed to electrical hazards. Normal lifting, 0-50 lbs., bending, lifting, kneeling, climbing and some pushing and pulling. When lifting over 50 lbs.; two people are required if not aided by a machine.
