Job Summary

The internship program provides opportunities to gain practical work experience in a business environment. As a full-time, paid intern, you will be engaged in a variety of projects, and responsible for delivering results, both as an individual and as a member of a team. The internship program begins with orientation and training, which will provide you with all the necessary information and resources to ensure your success over the course of the 12-week program. After orientation, you will begin to work with your assigned manager and team on various projects throughout your internship; you will receive ongoing feedback, as well as formal performance reviews. In your final weeks at Change Healthcare, you will participate in a presentation to senior leadership, reviewing the projects in which you have been engaged and the value you have added to the organization. Every aspect of this internship program is designed to enhance professional development.

Job Duties

Upon selection for role, the intern will assist Technical Accounting team with research of complex accounting issues and transactions.

Help maintain well-documented enterprise accounting policies.

Assist with preparation of quarterly financial statements.

The Data Science Intern will join the data science team embedded within the Technology Enabled Services organization. The team member will assist in the creation of data driven solutions to business problems including data consolidation and normalization, generation of actionable business insight, building advanced analytical models, and partnering with operations and overhead partners for feedback and user acceptance. The position will receive a business-driven problem, gather and cleanse data, build complex and automated models, draw key insights from the data, and ultimately deliver interventional tools to drive savings to the bottom line. The ideal candidate for this role has a propensity for data mining, project management, and can draw insights from analytics to improve and develop measurable interventions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Collects, cleanses, and automates data flows into a central repository
* Analyzes existing data sets to identify patterns, outliers, and areas of inconsistencies through relationships that exist in the data
* Collaborates with business leaders to validate data insights, and design strategies or recommend changes
* Builds models for automated data analysis and predictive insights
* Creates data visualizations for end users including the use of dashboards (Power BI) or user interfaces (PowerApps or other web-based interface)
* Actively works to overcome project barriers, and follows up with stakeholders on status
* Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience


* Current junior, senior or graduate student pursuing a bachelor's/master's
* Minimum GPA of 3.0 (resumes must indicate GPA for consideration)
* 2-4 years of coursework in analytics, data science, business intelligence, or similar field
* Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
* Strong personal computer literacy required including working knowledge of relevant software packages such as Microsoft Excel, SQL, and data visualization suites (Power BI, Spotfire, Tableau, etc.)
* Ability to work with large amounts of data, including checks for integrity, summation, and effective communication (written and verbal) to internal and external constituents
* Demonstrated capacity to become "expert" in new topics and disciplines quickly
* "Self-starter" attitude with the ability to excel in dynamic work environments
* Ability to manage multiple priorities


* Skilled in Python
* GPA of 3.5 out of 4.0 or above
* Previous internship experience
* Rising senior or graduate level student
