Job Description

Through the Racial Wealth Divide Initiative (RWDI), Prosperity Now leverages its connection to national organizations, a growing network of state and local partners, and our core competencies-technical assistance policy development and advocacy, and applied research-to aggressively address racial economic inequality.

We seek a Racial Wealth Divide Initiative Intern to support a variety of large-scale projects and assist with key functions for the RWDI team. The intern will provide administrative and research support for different projects aimed at improving the asset building landscape to meet the specific and unique need of communities of color in target areas. The paid internship will begin in January 2020 and is expected to end in May 2020 with interns working 16-20 hours per week. Key Responsibilities:

* Provide research support related to individual/community/national program best practices and asset development policies and tools, as it relates to the racial wealth divide;
* Assist with the drafting and editing of educational/advocacy materials including reports, publications, presentations, blog posts, and other communications materials;
* Provide administrative support to RWDI team, such as meeting scheduling and coordination, logistics and travel planning, note-taking, file manage, etc.; and
* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

* Graduate student or current (or completed) higher undergraduate student in a public policy, social science, or related major.
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and move projects forward in a productive and efficient manner.
* Excellent writing and research skills.
* Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
* Experience providing programmatic, administrative, and logistical support.
* Strong commitment to racial equity and inclusion and the economic advancement of communities and families of color.
