Co-ops and Internships at Landis+Gyr are designed to enhance the quality and scope of learning by providing students the option of integrating academic study with related, work based learning. Landis+Gyr has several entry-paths for college students and new graduates who are looking for exciting careers in technology. Our co-op/intern program is designed to help you gain practical experience side-by-side with leaders in our company. We are always on the lookout for exceptional students who are interested in making a valuable contribution to Landis+Gyr's success while expanding their knowledge of the energy industry.

The Mechanical Engineering Co-op will be of interest to a candidate seeking experience in the mechanical design and development field. This individual must have the capacity to work in a team setting and communicate/work well with others. He or she will begin the session learning/enhancing CAD skills to make drawing/model changes and progress to assisting and eventually creating mechanical design packages for electronic assemblies.

This Co-op is open for the Fall of 2019 for an undergraduate student working towards their Bachelors degree. Students must be available to work 3 rotating semesters - Fall 2019, Summer 2020, and Winter/Spring 2021. With oversight and direction from the team leader(s), the Co-op will:

* Modify CAD drawings
* Modify CAD models in ProEngineer
* Create ECO (engineering change orders)
* Review prototypes and identify errors in the design or manufacturing method
* Create CAD drawings
* Create CAD models in ProEngineer
* Perform other project work as assigned

Required Skills

* Ability to work with a team in completion of activities and tasks
* Ability to communicate well (written and verbal)
* Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
* Personal Computer knowledge
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
* Keyboard/typing skills
* Must be capable of taking direction from supervisor

Required Experience

* BS/MS in mechanical engineering in process
* GPA of 3.0 or higher
* CAD experience a plus, preferably ProEngineer & AutoCAD
* Plastic, sheet metal and machining experience a plus
* Completed basic drafting and/or design classes a plus
