Job Description

The Graduate Intern will assist engineers in designing, developing and testing software written in Java and/or C. The Graduate Intern will assist in one or more proof-of-concept, lab-scale research projects, which may combine hardware and software. The Graduate Intern will develop skills in embedded software design, software development and testing on an embedded ARM-based computing platform with limited computing resources.

* Software design/implementation, most likely in the Java programming language, but may also include C
* Software integration and testing
* Design and other documentation
* Other related technical tasks as assigned/required

Required Skills

* Software development experience in Java, C or C++
* Experience with wireless communications or wireless mesh networks is a plus
* Experience with embedded systems development is a plus
* Experience with power systems including transmission or distribution is a plus
* Experience with Internet-of-Things (IoT) communication protocols is a plus

Required Experience

* An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
* Currently enrolled as a graduate student (MS or PhD) in EE, CE or CS
