Job Description

The Cedars-Sinai Multiple Sclerosis Center unites unparalleled expertise with world-class research and a heartfelt, caring approach to help patients with multiple sclerosis and related disorders not only manage their symptoms, but flourish.

Leading the way at the Multiple Sclerosis Center is Director Nancy Sicotte, MD, whose research into the many ways multiple sclerosis can affect the lives of patients helps her approach each case with experience and a dedication to personalized care.

The center has been designated as a Partner in MS Care-Comprehensive Care Center by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Essential Duties:

Essential job duties include both independent decision making abilities and collaboration with the board certified physician to provide expert care to patients with neuromuscular disorders such as Multiple Sclerosis, Movement Disorders, Epilepsy, and other neurological conditions.

Provides individualized care in the inpatient and outpatient environments under the direction of and in collaboration with the Neurological supervising physician. This individualized care is achieved through comprehensive health assessments and treatment; detail documentation of history and physicals, consultations, and progress notes, ordering and or interpreting diagnostic test or studies.

Educational Requirements:

* Master of Nursing or Doctorate Degree required
* Graduate of an accredited Nurse practitioner program approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing as defined in Section 1482, Nurse Practice Act, Business and Professional Code.


* Current State of California Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner License required
* Nurse Practitioner Furnishing license required
* National Nurse Practitioner Certification preferred
* BLS and ACLS required
* Eligible for Nurse Practitioner specialty certification


* A minimum of 2 years of Nursing experience, preferably including Acute Care, required
* Will consider a new graduate Nurse Practitioner

* Full command (verbal and written) of the English language
* Excellent verbal and written skills

Physical Demands:

* The physical ability and perceptive acuity to satisfactorily perform all direct and indirect patient care functions to include walking, lifting, and standing.
